Ercilia Cepeda is a Mexican visual artist born in Torreón, Coahuila. Her practice is rooted in sustained experimentation with painting, installation, performance, and visual research, developed through decades of independent studio work and academic training in Mexico, Europe, and Latin America.

Working between abstraction and figuration, Cepeda explores memory, material processes, and inner states without reliance on narrative or symbolic illustration. Gesture, accident, and material resistance play a central role in her work, resulting in compositions that balance emotional intensity with formal clarity.

Her work has been exhibited extensively in museums, cultural institutions, and independent spaces across Mexico, the United States, Europe, and South America, and is held in both public and private collections internationally.
